What do we mean by this?
Domestic/ UK Student - A student who resides in the UK outside of term time.
International - A student who resides in an International Country outside of term time. Including the EU

What do we mean by this?
Commuting Students - a student who travels to university to attend.
First Generation- you are the first of your immediate family to attend university.
Parent/carer - you a carer for a family member/child who is dependent on you.
Care Experienced - A student who has been or is currently in care or from a looked-after background at any stage in their life, no matter how short, including adopted children who were previously looked-after.
Estranged Student - the student has little or no contact with their parents (either biological or adoptive) and this is unlikely to change.
Disabled Student- the student has a physical or mental condition that substantially limits one or more major life activities, such as walking, seeing, learning, hearing, speaking or breathing.
Hetrosexual/Straight - Refers to a man who has a romantic and/or sexual orientation towards women or to a woman who has a romantic and/or sexual orientation towards men.
Gay Man- Refers to a man who has a romantic and/or sexual orientation towards men. Some non-binary people may also identify with this term.
Gay Woman/Lesbian - Refers to a woman who has a romantic and/or sexual orientation towards women. Some non-binary people may also identify with this term.
Bisexual/Bi/Bi+ - people who are physically and emotionally attracted to individuals of both genders.
Why are we asking this?
In order to understand the needs of our students, it is important for us to understand any trends that affect different learner communities in terms of sexual orientation, so that we can take these into account.
